This stable and growing IT organisation is currently in search of an experienced Websphere Portal Developer. As the Websphere Portal Developer and Designer you will join the Service Delivery Team and be responsible for creating design standards and development guideline as well as completing a working prototype for the WebSphere Portal platform. Your key responsibilities will include: - Work with our lead Portal Architect as well as Project and Customer stakeholders in creation of suitable documentation for -Portal design standards and -Portal development guidelines.
- Assist in the setup the Portal development environment based on the infrastructure environments, tools and methods of the project
- Prototype and Develop required portal components using Rational Application Developer and associated tools
- Understand the Project objectives and schedules and deliver quality code on time.
As the successful applicant you possess the following experience and attributes: - 5+ years experience developing software, with 2+ years at the Senior/Lead level
- 3+ years designing and developing software in a Java and J2EE / WebSphere environment
- Development of Portal components, portlets and applications
- Experience working with IBM Tivoli TIM/TAM platform and role-based SSO security
- Experience with WebSphere Portal Server 6.1
- Experience with developing WebSphere Portlets using Websphere Portlet Factory and Rational Application Developer (RAD)
- Experience with designing Portal Applications and Integrated Web Applications
- Knowledge and experience in development using Web development frameworks like (Struts, Spring, Hibernate, AJAX etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in development using XML including XSD, WSDL, UDDI, SOAP and XSLT.
- Knowledge and experience in development using Relational Database Technology and SQL
- Knowledge and understanding of UML
- Knowledge of WebSphere Portal configuration, component deployment and optimisation
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills
- Customer presentation and workshopping skills
- Team Leading and mentoring skills
